Heath Mizer

Landscape Architect

Active in the design industry for over 20 years, Heath Mizer’s expertise in landscape architecture, urban design, and planning have been instrumental in creating beautiful and functional public spaces throughout the U.S. and Canada. He believes what we do is an art form that can have a profound impact on people’s lives. With this in mind, his focus on scale, craftsmanship, composition, and contextual integration ensures that projects are not only aesthetically pleasing but also practical and sustainable. Heath’s portfolio includes several projects that he has led from concept to implementation.

Throughout his tenure at Civitas, Heath has earned a reputation for his attention to detail and thoughtful design process. He understands that landscape architecture is a lengthy process that requires patience and careful planning, especially when dealing with public spaces and signature parks, which he’s recently designed in Denver, CO, Columbia, SC, and Alberta, CA.  His talent and expertise have made a positive impact on the communities that use these parks, providing them with beautiful and functional spaces that they can enjoy for years to come.

My brother-in-law is a quadriplegic, and he’s an inspiration in all of my work. Unfortunately, it’s almost impossible to appreciate the value of accessibility until you experience it personally, so this motivates me to create better experiences for all.”
