Merina Irfano is a highly experienced and accomplished urban designer and planner with more than 25 years of experience in the field. In addition to her work as an architect in the private sector, she has a Ph.D. in Urban Planning from the Graduate School of Science and Engineering at the Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan, and an undergraduate degree in architecture from the Bandung Institute of Technology in Indonesia.
Throughout her career, Merina has demonstrated a passion for creating transformational designs that have a positive impact on people and the environment. She has lived in several countries and visited many cities around the world, which has given her a unique perspective on how to improve the urban environment. Merina has a strong ability to understand urban contextual problems and provide honest responses to challenging issues. Merina has led a variety of project types ranging from entitlement, design guidelines, urban green-fill and brown-fill projects in the United States, to large and complex master plan projects in the Middle East and Southeast Asia regions. One of her most notable projects was the redevelopment of Stapleton, Colorado, now called Central Park, one of the largest infill redevelopment projects in the United States. A resident of the community, Merina is currently a member of the Design Review Boards for Central Park.
