The Downtown Denver Partnership has been the leading visionaries for central Denver for 45 years. In their ongoing effort to keep Downtown connected, active and growing, they came up with the idea of ringing the central city with a “loop” that would bring five neighborhoods together with downtown into a more cohesive and vibrant city core that embraces the diversity of cultures near downtown.

Civitas led the effort to define the vision – as a tool to improve community connectivity, to encourage healthy living and recreation, to make a more green and resilient city, and to create an unprecedented investment to expand opportunity into all five neighborhoods. The Master Plan engaged neighbors and stakeholders throughout the 5.3 mile corridor to envision a corridor where pedestrians, bikes, gathering places and resilient green spaces, local business and institutions have priority over vehicles.
