As an Urban Designer at Civitas, Eric is responsible for designing spaces that are both functional and beautiful. He collaborates with architects, engineers, and other design professionals to create innovative and sustainable designs that meet the needs of clients and communities.
When he joined Civitas in 2022, Eric was drawn to the firm’s culture, which encourages individuals to express their unique ideas and design process as they collaborate across the close-knit team. He brought with him the invaluable experience working in the field as an senior environmental planner in California, coupled with his passion for creating meaningful spaces. An observer and listener, he believes that the first step in the design process is to understand the context of the place, the community and the history, and that the iterative process ultimately creates a better place for the people who use it.
With his finger on the pulse of the next generation’s way of thinking, Eric brings a fresh perspective to the team. He is passionate about creating gathering places that improve the public realm and that support local businesses.
