Senior Landscape Architect/Urban Designer

Civitas is an urban design and landscape architecture firm that shapes cities for the better. We transform urban places into living, breathing ecosystems, seamlessly blending nature with city life. We’re expert listeners and designers, engaging residents to co-create sustainable, city-defining places.

We are seeking a talented landscape architect or urban designer with 8-12 years of professional experience to join our team in Denver, Colorado. The ideal candidate will be a self-directed designer with strong autonomous decision-making skills. This position requires experience working across a wide variety of scales and phases of design for both private sector and public clients in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

Salary range: $90,000-$110,000.

Qualifications:

  • A professional degree in landscape architecture, urban design, or architecture

  • 8+ years of professional experience

  • Strong focus in design and/or management

  • Demonstrated experience managing project teams and consultants

  • Experience with independent decision-making at the project level

  • Ability to lead multiple projects or pursuits from concept through execution

  • Licensure or certification in the respective field

  • Strong written communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the preparation of construction documents and other deliverables for large, complex projects

  • Work collaboratively and effectively communicate creative ideas

  • Work independently and manage others with minimal supervision

  • Manage client and contractor relationships

  • Consultant coordination

  • Establish and manage project budgets and schedules

  • Independently prioritize, execute, and deliver high-quality results

  • Mentor designers and junior staff on systems and project delivery, while setting an example for younger designers in professionalism, collegiality, and curiosity

  • Show interest and effort in building a professional network

  • Contribute to business development, proposals, and studio operations
