I was a singer when I was a university student, went body rafting at 25 and almost died, wanted to be a car designer, like skiing, ice skating and playing soccer.

Soonhyuck “Soon” Choi, Urban Designer
Soonhyuck is an Urban Designer with a Master’s degree in Urban Design from the University of Colorado Denver, and a Master of Science in Urban Planning from the Hanyang University in South Korea. As an urban designer, his goal is to attune to the rhythms of social life, and produce satisfying, flexible, and innovative solutions to our most challenging design problems. Currently Soon is working on the Broomfield Civic Center and the Calgary River District Master Plan.
Prior to joining Civitas in 2015, Soonhyuck was a designer at a top multidisciplinary architectural firm, Tomoon Architects and Engineers, in South Korea where his responsibilities ranged from small-to-large scale projects, from residential redevelopment to design competitions for the river front area in Seoul and abroad.
