Charles Schwab is well known for low cost, high value investment services. But the company’s 2,500 people in the Front Range were spread among a variety of buildings and sites. Civitas assisted Schwab in a site selection, evaluating the viability of 9 distinct sites for a consolidated regional headquarters. After a year of study Schwab selected a large site located at the center of Centennial, CO, with access to greenways, bikeways and services all within walking distance. Combined with a prominent location offering vast mountain views, Schwab sought to develop a campus that fully expressed a Colorado lifestyle.
Civitas designed the site to be exceptionally sustainable, with over 75% of the total site restored with native prairie for water conservation and habitat development. The four campus buildings surround a central services building with a fully accessible, occupied green roof which overlooks a large terrace and amphitheater for corporate and community gatherings and events.
